Building Government and Public Support for Veteran Issues
Our nation’s service men and women put everything on the line in defense of America’s freedom. Our public and political leaders need to be kept informed of the challenges they face returning to normal life. DAV’s legislative grassroots campaign makes sure they know what they need to do.
DAV’s multi-aspect legislative campaign provides this education and support in the capitol and across the country. Take some time here and learn how DAV is working with lawmakers on veterans behalf. In this section, we will discuss a major goal of DAV, which is to Build Government and Public Support for Veterans’ Issues. More specifically, we will discuss in depth about how DAV is advocating for women veterans by bringing awareness to their issues in transitioning from military life to veteran life.
Operation: KEEP THE PROMISE 2015
Operation: Keep the Promise (OKTP) is a year long advocacy effort to mobilize DAV and supporters behind their legislative agenda. In 2015, DAV plans to strongly focus on women veterans with both urgency and the momentum to bring about real, and substantial change.
